Community Partnerships

Community Connections:
Harvard University is proud to be an integral part of the vibrant communities of Cambridge and Boston. The vitality of these cities, united with the academic and cultural power of Harvard, results in extraordinary, mutually beneficial relationships that enrich lives both at Harvard and in the community. Harvard's wide range of over 200 service programs in the areas of education, affordable housing and community service, create enormously positive connections linking “town and gown.”

Improving Schools - Expanding Opportunity:
Harvard runs more than 100 education programs serving thousands of local children and life-long learners each year. Through the Crimson Academy, the Harvard After School Initiative and the Cambridge-Harvard Summer Academy for example, Harvard helps boost achievement and strengthen curriculum. Through a range of continuing education scholarships and professional development programs, Harvard is investing in our neighbors’ futures. More

Increasing Affordable Housing:
Boston and Cambridge have seen housing cost skyrocket - impacting the diversity and affordability of city neighborhoods. Harvard has helped create more than 1500 affordable housing units through initiatives including 20/20/2000 program. More
